Although many university dons claims that the reduction of cut off mark means lowering the standard of education, we will monitor to see if any of the university in Nigeria accepts the pegged 120 as their cut off mark for admission.

Yesterday, ASUU rejects the JAMB cut off mark, saying it’s a sad decision for the future.

Also, in a report from Punch newspaper, university vice chancellors and members of the academic staff union of universities out-rightly rejects the 120 cut off mark pegged by JAMB.

List of universities in Nigeria that accept 120 as their cut off mark.

See the  universities in Nigeria that accept 120 as their cut off mark. However, we will monitor press releases from many schools and will bring you this information if any.

1. Abia State University

But we believe most first tier federal universities will maintain their cut off mark between 180 to 200. See Universities In Nigeria That Accepts 150 JAMB Cut Off Mark For Admission.

The Way Forward

Even if all Nigerian Universities accept 120 as their cut off mark, that does not means that every candidate who scored up to 120 will get admission. Remember, over 569,395 of the 1.7 million candidates scored over 200 marks and the universities in Nigeria do not have the capacity to admit this high number of candidates.

Earlier, the federal government lifted ban on post utme exam saying that schools that wish to conduct the exam can do so.

This means that many schools will conduct post utme exam this year. The implication if this is that, post utme exam will be used as a screening tool to get the eligible candidates for this years admission since the universities has lost confidence in jamb.

What candidates should do

This year’s admission will be very competitive. Imagine 569,395 candidates scoring more than 200 while the jamb cut off mark is 120. We advice all candidates to start prepare very well for post utme exam. Luckily we have post utme past questions for various schools. These past questions can help candidates to prepare very well for the exam.
